Professor Victor C.M. Leung is a Life Fellow of IEEE, Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada (Academy of Science), Fellow of Canadian Academy of Engineering, and Fellow of Engineering Institute of Canada. He is currently appointed as a Distinguished Professor in the College of Computer Science and Software Engineering at Shenzhen University. He is also a professor emeritus of the University of British Columbia (UBC) and Director of the Wireless Networks and Mobile Systems Laboratory. He was previously appointed Professor and TELUS Mobility Research Chair in Advanced Telecommunications Engineering at UBC. He was elected as a Distinguished Lecturer of the IEEE Communications Society (ComSoc) in 2009-2012. He is serving or has served on the editorial boards of IEEE Network, IEEE Access, IEEE Wireless Communications Letters，IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications，IEEE Transactions on Cloud Computing, IEEE Transactions on Computers，IEEE Transactions on Green Communications and Networking, IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology and IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications. He has co-authored more than 1300 peer-reviewed articles in the broad areas of wireless networks and mobile systems, and provided leadership to the organizing committees and technical program committees of many international conferences. Several of his papers have won best paper awards, including the 2017 IEEE ComSoc Fred W. Ellersick Prize, 2017 IEEE Systems Journal best paper award, 2018 IEEE CSIM best journal paper award, and 2019 IEEE TCGCC best journal paper award. He is listed in the current Clarivate Analytics list of highly cited authors. He has also received the 2011 UBC Killam Research Prize, IEEE Vancouver Section Centenial Award, 2017 Canadian Telecommunications Research Award, 2018 IEEE TCGCC Distinguished Technical Achievement Recognition Award, and 2018 ACM MSWiM Reginald Fessenden Award.
