Cutting across multiple disciplines such as computer graphics, computer vision and visualization, the Visual Computing Research Center (VCC) conducts deep research on 3D acquisition/understanding/modeling and visual analytics/computing, with applications in virtual reality, smart city, E-commercial, manufacture, education, art and entertainment. VCC has built an internationally advanced research laboratory on visual Computing and visual Analysis, and has established a close collaboration with international famous research groups from Israel, Canada, Germany, the United States, Hong Kong, etc. High-level international research workshops and summer camps are organized every year to effectively and constantly enhance the academic impact of VCC.
Hui Huang Director
Dr. Hui Huang is the Distinguished Professor of Shenzhen University and the Founding Director of the Visual Computing Research Center. She received her PhD degree in Applied Math from the University of British Columbia (UBC) in 2008 and another PhD degree in Computational Math from Wuhan University (WHU) in 2006. Her research interests are in computer graphics and scientific computing, focusing on point-based modeling, geometric analysis, and 3D acquisition and creation. She has published dozens of papers in international journals and conferences, including 17 papers in SIGGRAPH and SIGGRAPH ASIA. She is currently the Associate Editor-in-Chief of The Visual Computer (TVCJ) and is on the editorial board of the Computer Graphics Forum (CGF) and the Frontiers of Computer Science (FCS). She has served on the program committees of major computer graphics conferences including SIGGRAPH Asia, EG, SGP, PG, GMP, SMI and CAD/Graphics. She is invited to be the SIGGRAPH ASIA 2017 Technical Briefs and Posters Chair, besides the ASIA 2016 Workshops Chair and the SIGGRAPH ASIA 2014 Community Liaison Chair. She received the NSFC Excellent Young Scientist grant and the Guangdong Technological Innovation Leading Talent award in 2015. She is also the Senior Member of ACM.
VCC has a world-class research team, and has been engaging in visual computing scientific research for a long term. The team members include one distinguished professor, six distinguished visiting professors, three assistant professors, two postdoctoral researchers, four technological engineers, two administrative assistants and dozens of diligent PhD and Master’s degree students.
