In October 2021, the Shenzhen University-Pakistan Engineering Council "The Belt and Road" Intelligent Internet of Things Joint Research Center was officially inaugurated. The research center takes academician Victor Chungming Leung and academician Fei Yu as the chief scientists, relying on the Internet of things research center of Shenzhen University (Guangdong wireless big data and future network engineering center). Besides, Professor Zhong Ming serves as the director of the research center, who is the president of the graduate college of Shenzhen University. The research center responds to the call of "The Belt and Road" to technological innovation, centres on the development of intelligent IOT, including, but not limited to, 5G based intelligent medical technology, hierarchical architecture of cloud computing system and cloud resource management, data interaction of distributed Internet of vehicles based on blockchain, etc.

China-UK Joint Research Lab on Visual Information Processing was jointly established by Shenzhen University and the University of Nottingham in 2015. It gathers talents in computer vision theory and application related disciplines such as image processing and pattern recognition, and is engaged in computer vision and deep learning theories. Research on machine applications and apply them to fields such as face analysis, fingerprint recognition, medical image-aided diagnosis, and remote sensing data mining. The laboratory has conducted extensive industry-university-research cooperation with Qualcomm, Huawei, Vipshop, Dahua, Oumeng and other companies in the fields of face detection, recognition, fingerprint recognition, medical images, and machine learning.

Sergey Goncharov Academician Workstation takes Sergey Goncharov as the chief scientist, relies on the Big Data Institute and the National Engineering Laboratory For Big Data System Computing Technology, and cooperates with the teams of Russian Academy of Sciences and Novosibirsk State University to create high-end innovation platform for interdisciplinary research of mathematics, big data and artificial intelligence.

In May 2019, The Asoke K. Nandi Academician Workstation was built in Research Institute of Network and Information Security, the College of Computer Science and Software Engineering,  Shenzhen University, Shenzhen, China. Now, the workstation has two professors, two associate professors, four assistant professors and three research staffs. The workstation focuses on “Research of Network and Security - Patent Technology Accumulation - Standard-Setting - Industrialization of Technological Production”. Moreover, the workstation carries out applied foundational research and talent team construction about "Taking the advanced demand of industry as the start and taking the value realization of achievements as the end", mainly studies artificial intelligence, brain signal processing, signal processing and machine learning, and applies it to robotics, Internet of things, social network analysis Big data analysis, mobile medical and biomedical data.
