From July 14th to 17th, CSSE successfully hosted the 3rd National Undergraduate Summer School, attracting 232 outstanding undergraduate students from universities nationwide. The camp aimed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of Shenzhen University and College of Computer Science and Engineering, expose them to cutting-edge technologies, and facilitate in-depth interactions with distinguished faculty and students.

Academic Lectures

From July 15th to the morning of July 16th, eight thematic academic lectures were held. Twenty-seven faculty members from various research units presented their latest research findings and cutting-edge advancements. They delved into the methodologies and scientific thinking behind their research, providing participants with a deeper understanding of different subfields. Through these lectures, students not only acquired specialized knowledge but also gained valuable insights into potential research interests, aiding them in making informed decisions about their future academic pursuits.

Faculty-Student Seminar

On the afternoon of July 16th, the eight research institutes organized separate seminars, offering participants opportunities for close interactions with esteemed faculty members and graduate students. Students could freely choose research units that aligned with their interests and career aspirations.

During the seminars, students could engage in one-on-one discussions with their preferred mentors in specific subfields and seek firsthand advice from senior students regarding graduate life. Over delicious food and friendly conversation, faculty and students gained a deeper insight into the research institute's culture, team dynamics, and the everyday realities of graduate study. These interactions not only deepened students' understanding of graduate studies but also provided clearer guidance for their future development.

Cultural Experiences

To enrich the camp experience, cultural activities were arranged. Participants visited Shenzhen Talent Park, Lianhua Mountain Park, and the exhibition commemorating the 40th anniversary of China's reform and opening-up. Shenzhen Talent Park, a landmark of Shenzhen's talent culture, boasts beautiful landscapes and various sculptures and installations. The exhibition vividly showcased Shenzhen's technological innovation and its remarkable journey over the past four decades.
