Dr. Haodi Zhang is an Associate Professor and Associate Head of the Software Engineering Department at the College of Computer Science and Software Engineering, Shenzhen University. He is also an Adjunct Ph.D. Supervisor at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) and a Shenzhen 'Peacock Plan' High-level Talent. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) in 2016, and his B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) in 2009. Prior to joining Shenzhen University, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Industrial Engineering and Decision Analytics at HKUST and a Visiting Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science at HKUST.

His research interests include Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, Knowledge Representation and Reasoning, Deep Reinforcement Learning, and AI applications in Natural Language Processing, games, and healthcare. His research has been published in top-tier venues such as Artificial Intelligence (AIJ), IEEE TKDE, IJCAI, AAAI, and ICDE, with more than 50 papers to date. He has led 7 research projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), the Natural Science Foundation of Guangdong Province, and others.

He won the champion of both the Verbal and Diagram tracks of the IJCAI 2021 Machine Intelligence Quotient (MAIQ) competition, the Tencent Rhino-Bird Young Faculty Research Award, and several teaching awards. He has served as an expert member of the ETSI ENI working group, an Area Chair of IJCAI 2025, and the Local Chair of EAI ICECI 2021, and he regularly serves as a senior program committee member or session chair for AAAI, IJCAI, ACL, NeurIPS, ICLR, and EMNLP, as well as an invited reviewer for journals including IEEE TKDE, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Data Intelligence. He is a committee member of the Internet Professional Association of Hong Kong, and of the CCF Technical Committees on Big Data, on Artificial Intelligence and Pattern Recognition, and on the Internet of Things.
